Best Oct–Dec and Mar–Apr: dry, mild 20–26°C and clear skies for Taroko Gorge, Sun Moon Lake and Taipei. Cherry blossoms bloom Feb–Mar in Alishan. May–Jun is the plum rain season; Jul–Sep is hot, humid and typhoon-prone. Winter is cool and damp in the north but warm in Kenting down south.
